The development of a dissertation-specific metadata set with international validity coded in RDF belonged to the basic requests of the MathDiss International project. An agreement on a basic structure for the international dataset was reached on the NDLTD Standards Meeting in January 2001 at OCLC (Dublin / Ohio). This model was assembled to a valid RDF file in cooperation with the University of Osnabrück represented by Priv.-Doz. Dr. Roland Schwänzl (chair of the IuK working group metadata) and Dipl.-Math. Stefan Kokkelink. Besides the specification of Dissertation Online, the current developments of the Math-Net-Initiative have also been considered. A final fine tuning with the NDLTD-Initiative took place at the fourth ETD Symposium at Caltech (Pasadena / California). |
