The Austrian Dissertations Database is set up and maintained by the department for Information Engineering of the Austrian Research Centers GmbH - ARC, on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. It comprises all Austrian dissertations from 1990 onwards. The database is built in cooperation with the university libraries, the dean´s offices and examinations offices of the Austrian universities. The data are collected (from 1999 onwards by an WWW-user interface ) under supervision of the dean´s and examinations offices and are forwarded via the university libraries to the Austrian Research Centre Seibersdorf, which perform subject analysis and descriptive cataloguing, so that the data are provided in the standard of international information systems.
The ETH E-Collection is the institutional repository of the ETH Zurich. This service allows members of the ETH community to publish relevant scientific information open access. The ETH E-Collection serves as platform for the ETH Zurich publications, has archival functions and searching features to retrieve relevant research results. At this stage this open access platform gives free and unlimited access to more than 20,000 single documents published by authors of the ETH Zurich.
